With Guest Speaker: Dick Sem, CPP – Sem Security Management
Problematic behavior by patients and families, from aggressiveness to violence, has been increasing in recent years, exacerbated by the pandemic. While random and totally unexpected violence can happen, most incidents showed early warning indicators that, if recognized, reported and managed properly, could have been prevented. We will address key concepts of early intervention and team-based patient risk and threat assessments and responses, as well as physical and procedural measures proven to mitigate harm from violence.
