First time on the field?  Come to Spring Training!

If you are new to risk management this workshop is for you!  Experienced risk leaders will “show you the ropes” as we discuss the basics of risk management in healthcare organizations. Through presentations, interactive scenarios, and opportunities for questions and answers, participants will learn key concepts in risk management, claims, litigation, legal/statutory issues, regulatory compliance, ethics, and leadership!

In addition to leaving with a wealth of knowledge, key contacts, and a list of resources, by the end of this session, participants will be able to:

1. List 5 ways to identify risk in their organization.
2. Create 3 key risk reports for their leadership team.
3. Develop a formal risk management plan.
4. Explain risk financing vehicles.
5. Identify 3 critical steps in the claims identification process.
6. Create 2 claims/loss reports to drive action.
7. Describe 5 current legal/regulatory issues.
8. Explain the role of risk management in ethics consults.
9. List 3 ways to enhance their leadership presence.
10. Produce the names and business cards of at least 25 new healthcare risk management contacts!

There is no cost to current SCAHRM members to attend this event, and you can sign up for membership during the registration process.  Lunch will be included.  Attire for the session is “sport casual” which means team athletic attire or jeans and your favorite sports team top!
