Join SCAHRM for a timely and thought-provoking discussion on Implicit Bias. This Q&A discussion will focus on how implicit bias can impact social behavior and decision-making in the legal community. The discussion will include a range of environments where people’s associations and decisions can affect others. The discussion will include awareness of implicit bias and ways to mitigate it.

Hon. Karine Mkrtchyan, Judge, Los Angeles Superior Court
Appointed by Governor Gavin Newsom in 2025, Judge Mkrtchyan presides in Department 25 at the Spring Street Courthouse. A former commissioner and healthcare litigation attorney, she actively serves on the court’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee and teaches civil pretrial practice at Southwestern Law School. She is also a past president of SCAHRM.
